Adriana Bosch - Award-winning Documentary Filmmaker

Adriana Bosch is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with over 40 years of experience in television and film production. She has produced, written, and directed more than a dozen films that have aired nationally on PBS, including acclaimed works for American Masters, American Experience, and Voces.

Her recent projects include the feature-length documentary on Dominican American writer Julia Alvarez for PBS's American Masters (2024) and Letters to Eloisa, a film about Cuban writer José Lezama Lima that aired on PBS in 2021. Among her most celebrated works is her biographies of Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and Fidel Castro and the six-hour series Latino Americans, which won a Peabody Award, and Latin Music USA, a four-hour series on Latin culture in the United States.

Bosch brings a unique academic perspective to her filmmaking, holding a PhD from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with specialization in international politics and Latin America. He was formerly a Research Associate at Harvard University's Center for International Affairs and has taught at Tufts University.

Two Peabody Awards for excellence in documentary filmmaking, including Latino Americans, and American Experience, The Presidents Series.

Primetime Emmy Award for Non-fiction Series, American Experience (1997-1998)

Three nominations from the Writers Guild of America for exceptional scriptwriting in documentary television. 1994 American Experience Eisenhower Part 1, 1998 American Experience Reagan Part 1, 2006 American Experience Fidel Castro. Two International Documentary Awards (IDA) Nominations, Jimmy Carter (2002) and Latin Music USA (2007).

Adriana's films have been featured in many festivals and received a multiplicity of awards, including a Silver Hugo at the Chicago Film Festival, a Cine Eagle Bronze Medal, Imagen Foundation Best Informational Program 2014, Gold Plaque, Chicago International Film Festival. Other awards include, International Independent Film Awards, Vancouver International Movie Awards, Santa Barbara Film Awards, London Movie Awards, Milan Gold Awards, Paris Film Awards, Depth of Field International Film Festival, 2022-2023, Hispanic International Film Festival, 2023 and 2025.

She has also received a Christopher Award and Erik Barnouw Award, recognizing educational and cultural contributions through documentary film.
